Our Community Pride Celebration is a beautiful event for people of all ages that includes community resource organizations, history exhibits, crafts, games, and culminates with a professional drag performance by Coco Sho-Nell & company. 

The event is planned by a multigenerational committee including high school students through older adults! SPEAK Des Plaines and The Des Plaines Clergy Alliance have teamed up to host this secular event at Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines. 

The intentions for this event are 

• To inspire joy, strength, and community engagement

• To be inclusive, intersectional, intergenerational, accessible, and anti-racist

• To be a safe and welcoming event for all individuals–any race, ethnicity, religion, age, ability, citizenship status, faith, or no faith 

• To be family friendly

• To acknowledge LGBTQIA+ people past, present & future

• To include all genders and sexualities - whether or not people are out

• To support local organizations and to be environmentally friendly
